Welcome to my Web Blog.

This is to keep all my friends updated on what's going on with the FC&W and my other railroad adventures. The name Flagstaff, Coconino and Western came from Flagstaff, where I live, Coconino is the county, and Western is where I go to visit other clubs and railroads. I will try and update it on a regular basis.

March Happenings on the FC&W

Well some big things happening lately on the FC&W. The diesel is just about done and ready to take to the Maricopa Live Steamers Meet this weekend to try it out. All that's left to do with it is make the steps, grab irons, railings, cut levers, and buy and install the air operated uncouplers. That will have to wait until after the meet.

The #9 finally received her boiler this month. Jon Thompson and his crew did an awesome job on it and it came out beautiful. All the modifications I did to the boiler started with a stock Allen mogul boiler and was shortened and the firebox was changed to fit the engine. It came out great and should be a good steamer. Now I just have to save up some more money for all the plumbing and fixtures and any live steamer knows how expensive that can get in a hurry.

The 1" pacific is torn down right now with the boiler off of it. The entire chassis has been given a new coat of paint and the boiler will get some work on it before it get put back on the engine. This will be my first priority before I get back to work on the mogul.

The C-21 has been sitting idle in the shop with no attention given to it lately. I should be recieving the fully machined cylinders within a month and will pull everything apart again, give it a paint job and reassemble everything.

Right now, its finish the Pacific, then the Mogul, and lastly the C-21. Oh and build a 2 1/2" flat car somewhere in the middle of all that. Eventually I'll get back to working on my railroad outside but I'm just having fun in the shop right now. Til next time....
