Welcome to my Web Blog.

This is to keep all my friends updated on what's going on with the FC&W and my other railroad adventures. The name Flagstaff, Coconino and Western came from Flagstaff, where I live, Coconino is the county, and Western is where I go to visit other clubs and railroads. I will try and update it on a regular basis.

The 2 1/2" scale D&RGW C-21 Project

Stuff that's been going on...

It's been a while since I last posted on the blog. Not a lot has been happening this year on my railroad. I did manage to pour the concrete footings for the retaining wall for my steaming bays. Hopefully by next summer the steaming bay wall and the 4 steaming bays will be installed. Also my plans for next year will be pouring the concrete crossing pads aross the front driveway and laying some more rail to complete the loop around the front of the house. As for the locomotives the #51 diesel electric is having all the electronics rebuilt with a new drive system that will be more reliable and easier to run. Tryed to throw together a drive system but it didnt work out. As for the 1"scale, the 0-4-0 got a new pettycoat this year because I found that then I pulled the old one out, it had a huge hole in the back side of it. Hopefully it will steam better from now on. The 1" pacific is almost done just need to finish up on the new plumbing and install a new water glass. The 2 1/2" Mogul is coming along as well. The boiler is done, just finished making an ashpan and am starting to plumb up the crosshead pumps and lubricator lines. Then I can put the boiler back on and make the jacketing for it and plumb up the rest of the engine. There still is alot to do but I'm trying to make a dent in it every week. Not having a 7 1/2" engine is killing me and I want to get one done. The C-21 hasn't had any work done to it in a while, just have been buying parts for it and putting them in boxes for when I get some extra time. Thats about it for now, hopefully I'll see some of you next year at the train meets with my #51 switcher.
